PROGRAMS & CLASSES

A strong foundation begins with exceptional training.

From first steps to advanced study, our youth and adult ballet programs provide age-appropriate instruction that develops technique, confidence, discipline, and a lifelong appreciation for the art of dance.

Classes & Programs

Full Level Packages

Our Comprehensive Training Programs for each level feature a thoughtfully curated curriculum based on each dancer's age, experience, and developmental stage. Rather than asking families to decide which classes are essential, we have designed a comprehensive training pathway that builds strong technique, artistry, versatility, and confidence.

Each level includes the classes recommended to help dancers progress with purpose, ensuring every student receives the well-rounded education they need to reach their full potential.

Youth Programs

Pre Ballet - Creative Movement (Ages 3-5)

Our youngest dancers are welcomed into a nurturing, imaginative environment where the joy of movement comes first. Through music, creative exploration, storytelling, and age-appropriate dance activities, children develop coordination, rhythm, balance, listening skills, and confidence while discovering the excitement of expressing themselves through movement.

This joyful introduction encourages a love of dance while building the social, physical, and classroom skills that prepare dancers for the transition into our Preparatory program, where formal ballet training begins.

Throughout the year, Pre-Ballet dancers have opportunities to celebrate their growth through informal studio demonstrations designed to build confidence and share their progress with family and friends.

Boys Program - Introduction to Ballet (Ages 6-10)

Not sure about ballet? We've heard that before and we'd love the opportunity to change your mind.

Ballet develops coordination, strength, balance, musicality, focus, and athleticism. It's one of the reasons athletes across many sports have incorporated ballet into their training for generations. We believe boys should have the opportunity to experience those benefits from an early age.

Our Boys Introduction to Ballet class is intentionally designed to be welcoming and low-pressure. There is no required dress code, allowing boys to come as they are and focus on moving, learning, and building confidence in the studio. As dancers develop their skills and interest, they have the opportunity to expand into additional classes and, over time, progress into a more comprehensive curriculum that includes partnering, strength development, and men's technique.

Classes are taught by Mr. Birkadze or one of our professional male faculty members, providing students with positive role models and expert instruction from the very beginning.

Continuing Enrollment

After the first year, tuition is $35/month for this weekly class. Families whose dancers are ready for additional training are encouraged to explore our Comprehensive Training Programs, which provide a thoughtfully designed curriculum to support continued technical and artistic development.

Preparatory (Ages 6-8)

This is where formal ballet training truly begins. Dancers are introduced to the structure of the ballet class as they start working at the barre, learning foundational positions, terminology, musicality, and the technical principles that form the language of classical ballet.

At this stage, curiosity, focus, and consistency matter just as much as learning new steps. As dancers begin inching toward the more serious training ahead, one additional style of dance is introduced alongside ballet, offering a place to loosen up and explore movement while their core technique continues to take shape. Through thoughtful, age-appropriate instruction, dancers build the healthy habits, coordination, and confidence that will support every level of their future education.

All Preparatory dancers have opportunities to share their progress through in-studio demonstrations and may audition to participate in full-length productions with American Classical Ballet.

Our Primary level builds upon the foundation established in Ballet 1 as dancers develop greater precision, coordination, and confidence. Students expand their movement vocabulary while spending more time working in the centre, learning to connect technique with artistry and musicality.

Attention to detail and healthy technical habits become increasingly important at this stage. The skills and discipline developed in Primary provide the framework for every level that follows, making this one of the most influential years in a dancer's training.

All Primary dancers have opportunities to share their progress through in-studio demonstrations and may audition to participate in full-length productions with American Classical Ballet.

Intermediate (Ages 10-12)

At the Intermediate level, dancers transition into more demanding technical and artistic training as expectations for precision, strength, and consistency continue to grow. Students refine their technique while developing greater musicality, artistry, and confidence, learning to apply foundational skills with increased control and intention.

For dancers who demonstrate the appropriate technical readiness, pointe work may be introduced at this stage under the guidance of our faculty. Contemporary, character, and conditioning classes become an increasingly important part of a well-rounded dance education, supporting versatility, strength, and healthy technical development.

Throughout the year, Intermediate dancers have opportunities to share their progress through in-studio demonstrations and, as eligible, may audition to participate in productions with American Classical Ballet.

Curriculum & full program Classes

The dancers who stand out aren't just technically strong, they're versatile, expressive, and physically prepared for anything. Training with the full curriculum, from contemporary and strength work to character and beyond, is how that happens. Enrolling in the full curriculum package delivers the greatest training benefit at the best value.

Contemporary

Essential to any dancer's training, contemporary movement helps develop coordination, freedom of movement, and a creative approach to dance. Teachers and styles are selected to complement and enhance classical ballet training, helping to develop movement styles that are relevant to repertoire that is danced in companies around the world. Dancers enrolled in Ballet 2 and above are encouraged to attend their corresponding contemporary classes for a well-rounded, dynamic curriculum.

FAQ image

Character

An essential component of classical ballet training, character class develops expressive use of the head and port de bras (use of the arms) through traditional folk and national dance forms, enriching every dancer's stage technical quality and presence on stage. Dancers enrolled in Ballet 2 and above are encouraged to attend their corresponding character class for a well-rounded, dynamic curriculum.

Stretch and Strength brings together targeted flexibility training, floor-based work, and active strength conditioning in a single class designed to improve coordination, build range of motion, and develop the physical foundation that supports every other aspect of a dancer's training. The class is structured to directly complement what students are working on in their dance classes, reinforcing technique and physical preparation in a way that carries through into the studio each week.

FAQ image

Fundamentals + Rhythm

Fundamentals + Rhythm focuses on floor-based technique, body alignment, core strength, coordination, and musicality. This class builds the essential movement patterns and rhythm needed for confident, efficient dancing.

FAQ image

Competition & Coaching

At ACB, we believe the most meaningful growth happens in the studio and on the stage. Our focus remains on the work itself: building technique, artistry, and the collective experience that shapes a dancer over time.

We support dancers who wish to pursue competitions, and ACB maintains a presence at select events. Private coaching is available for those looking to deepen and accelerate their development. When ready, competitions offer an additional opportunity to reinforce that work and challenge a dancer further.

What defines ACB is the quality of training, the integrity of the work, and the standard we hold in the studio every day.
